Current Collaborations

Photonic Wave Solutions (PWS) is collaborating with the University of Maryland (UMD) in the USA on a funding proposal to a government agency.

The proposal is for designing a high-resolution optical frequency comb using a nonlinear ring resonator. We will customize our new high precision nonlinear FDTD algorithms to determine the optimal design parameters. The end product will be an integrated module that includes a pumped-laser, and photonic interconnects to the micro-resonator chip.  As much as possible, commercially available components will be used, and the designs will be optimized for easy fabrication while limiting normal fabrication errors.
